VPG Reconcilliation Action Plan Design

VPG’s Reconciliation Action Plan Design

VPG’s vision for reconciliation is a reconciled Australia in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are celebrated and embraced as part of our National Identity.

To formalise our commitment to reconciliation, we are excited to announce the draft submission of our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) to Reconciliation Australia for endorsement. It shares our vision and the actions we are committing to achieve now and in the future.

As a part of the RAP journey, we engaged and collaborated with local Indigenous Designers @IndieDesignLabs and igneous studios, to create a stylised design representing the work we do, acknowledging the past, present and future in reconciliation.

The background design is symbolic of the journey one goes through when involved with VPG as well as acknowledging the country our various offices are located on.

In the centre of the design is our Acknowledgment of Country icon, which includes figures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people, elders and staff in the decision making within VPG. Designs within this icon represent the healing and growth in understanding and knowledge.

The design also acknowledges our four connectors in the work we do, that of helping and making a difference to Youth, Schools, Families and Industry.

We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for @IndieDesignLabs and igneous studios, who have helped us bring our visual story to life. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Melissa Browne – Cultural Consultant, our RAP Champion, First Nation’s Leadership Team, Youth Representatives, and VPG staff who have developed our Reconciliation Action Plan. We are all committed to it as we continue our journey towards reconciliation.
