Youth Housing Navigator

VPG’s Youth Housing Navigator helps young people across the Tablelands understand their housing options and work towards safe, stable housing.

We provide mobile case management and practical support, working one-on-one with young people to understand their situation, explore their options and connect with services.

How can the Youth Housing Navigator help?

The VPG Youth Housing Navigator works one-on-one with young people to understand their situation and provide practical support.

Through the service, young people can get help to:

  • Understand their housing options
  • Plan for a stable, independent future
  • Develop budgeting and independent living skills
  • Learn to manage rent, utilities and tenancy responsibilities
  • Connect with education, training or employment
  • Access health, mental health and other specialist supports

Who can access support?

VPG’s Youth Housing Navigator supports young people who:

  • Live across the Tablelands
  • Are experiencing homelessness
  • Are staying somewhere temporarily or insecurely
  • May need to leave their current accommodation
  • Are worried about losing their housing
  • Need help maintaining a tenancy or living independently

Young people can self-refer, or referrals can be made by family, schools and support services.

Important to know

The VPG Youth Housing Navigator does not provide accommodation, emergency housing or a youth shelter.

We provide mobile case management and practical support to help young people understand their options, connect with services and work towards safe, stable housing.
