We provide mobile case management and practical support, working one-on-one with young people to understand their situation, explore their options and connect with services.
How can the Youth Housing Navigator help?
The VPG Youth Housing Navigator works one-on-one with young people to understand their situation and provide practical support.
Through the service, young people can get help to:
- Understand their housing options
- Plan for a stable, independent future
- Develop budgeting and independent living skills
- Learn to manage rent, utilities and tenancy responsibilities
- Connect with education, training or employment
- Access health, mental health and other specialist supports
Who can access support?
VPG’s Youth Housing Navigator supports young people who:
- Live across the Tablelands
- Are experiencing homelessness
- Are staying somewhere temporarily or insecurely
- May need to leave their current accommodation
- Are worried about losing their housing
- Need help maintaining a tenancy or living independently
Young people can self-refer, or referrals can be made by family, schools and support services.
Important to know
The VPG Youth Housing Navigator does not provide accommodation, emergency housing or a youth shelter.
We provide mobile case management and practical support to help young people understand their options, connect with services and work towards safe, stable housing.
